The sequence in which we layer our skincare products plays a vital role in maintaining our skin healthy.
For example: You can’t apply sunscreen at night! This process is something which should be done in the morning and not in the night.

Now, as we all know now that these products hold a great significance in keeping your skin youthful and beautiful, so now comes the next question- What goes first?, What goes second? and Which one would be the final product?. So, here’s the order of products you should apply:
There are loads of skincare products available in the market. So it is very likely for you to get confused. But, worry not. Here, I have brought you a simple and easy 8 step morning skincare routine. Following this simple morning skin care routine prepares your skin to fight against the pollution, UV Sun rays, dirt and dust all day long!
Step 1 : Cleansing
Cleansing helps your skin in getting rid of all the debris, grime, dirt, impurities, bacteria, excess oils and dead skin cells accumulated all over your skin. Thus, it is very essential to do facial cleansing before you move forward for the next process. This first step of cleansing your face prepares your skin for the next process of layering up of makeup products.
To get all those goodies absorbed in your skin, you need a clean skin which is devoid of all the skin impurities.
What ingredients to look for while buying cleanser?
Dry skin : Look for ingredients such as ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid and choose a fragrance free cleanser.
Oily skin : Look for ingredients such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, niacinamide, benzoyl peroxide. Always choose a light, sulphate free, non-comedogenic and fragrance free cleanser.
Combination skin/natural skin : Look for ingredients such as tea tree oil, paraben free, aloe vera extract, etc.
How to apply ?
Take out a pea sized drop cleanser on your fingertips and massage it on your face in clockwise and anticlockwise directions.
Step 2 : Toning
Toner is a water infused product which gives your face, skin soothing benefits. Toner serves the sole purpose of removing any last particles of dirt, impurity, and grime left out on your face and makes your face clean thoroughly. It balances the natural pH of your skin and tightens your skin pores.
What ingredients to look for while buying toner?
Dry skin : Look for ingredients such as ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, lactic acid and avoid witch hazel, astringents, and alcohol based toners.
Oily skin : Look for ingredients such as glycolic acid, witch hazel, niacinamide, tea tree oil, lactic acid, citric acid, alpha hydroxy acids(AHAs) and avoid alcohol based toners.
Natural/combination skin : Any alcohol free toner.
How to apply?
Take out 2-3 drops of toner on your fingertips and tap it on your skin.
Now, wait till it dries before applying your next product so that our toner gets fully absorbed in your skin.
Step 3 : Serum
“Small packet, big bang.”
Serums definitely fulfill the saying of the above proverb. Serums, surely serve the sole purpose of becoming the weight lifter of all your skincare routine. So, don’t ever forget to include serums in your skincare regime. Serum is made up of super powerful ingredients and also they are super concentrated liquid which mainly deals in fixing skin problems such as antiaging, acne, dark spots and many more.
Serum also improves your overall skin tone and gives you an even skin tone. Serums are highly recommended due to its beneficial quality of penetrating deeper into the layers and are high in nutrients.

Take 1-2 drops of serum on your palms and tap it on your skin.
Step 4 : Eye creams
The first antiaging signs will not be over your lips, cheeks, neck-it will be the skin around your eyes!!! Yes, its totally true. The skin around your eyes is much more thinner than the skin on the other areas. Applying eyecream around your eyes gives you an assurance that your eyes will not lose its elasticity and laxity at an early age, or else your eyes will show you the first signs of ageing.
Eye cream also reduces dark circles, under eye bags and puffiness. They work as an excellent barrier between your eyes and your first signs of antiaging.

Step 5 : Moisturizer
Many of the people having oily skin will wonder, why on the earth would I need a moisturizer? But, yes you do need it as people with dry skin need it. Applying moisturizer before you apply your spot treatment is essential as your spot treatment shouldn’t get mixed away with your moisturizer and minimize its effects. After applying moisturizer your skin won’t run out of any moisture.

Oily skin : Look for ingredients such as lactic, glycolic, salicylic acid and dimethicone.
Dry skin/natural/combination : Look for ingredients such as lycopene, Vitamin E, antioxidants, emollients, shea butter, coconut oil, niacinamide, jojoba oil, humectants, glycerin, etc.

Take enough quantity of moisture in your fingertips and apply it on your face and neck.
Step 6 : Spot treatments
If your skin has some acne or active breakout issues then this spot treatment procedure is recommended to you. Basically, spot treatment creams make your acne, pimple, blemishes or active breakouts to disappear by treating them specifically.
This treatment also helps in reducing any redness caused over your face.

Step 7 : Face Oil

Most important, facial oils do have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which will help your skin to fight against ageing process and inflammation.

Step 8 : Sunscreen
The climax of this morning skincare routine ends with this essentially required sunscreen. Just like your moisturizer, your sunscreen is a must do step you should never skip. Sunscreen provides a lot of benefits and plays a crucial and vital role in keeping your skin stay healthy and youthful. It prevents unnecessary and unwanted wrinkles, tanning, acne, active breakouts and many more.
Always apply sunscreen containing atleast SPF 50 if your going outside and SPF 15 while staying at home. Sunscreen isn’t a one time thing, like once you apply in the morning and you are done for the day, it doesn’t work like that. It needs to be reapplied after every two or two and a half hours. Sunscreen blocks harmful Ultra Violet rays from the sun and also prevents skin cancer.
